August at our Children’s Centre has been wonderfully busy with four weeks of the Summer Play Camp for children with additional needs. The kids have had a ball under the safe supervision of our play leaders and their experienced and talented team of Community Workers and Volunteers.
For children who have developmental, physical or behavioural challenges, attending a regular summer-camp alongside their brothers and sisters can be out of the question, but our service offers a wonderful alternative.
Writing this on the last but one day of camp we can’t believe it’s whizzed by so fast. Every week has had its own specific theme – Seaside, Exercise and Sports, Circus and Pets and other Animals – giving the children a huge variety of sensory experiences, loads of opportunities to make friends and above all have FUN!
On top of this the camp has given their parents and carers complete peace of mind and a chance to switch off and recharge or give their attention to their other children.
The camp is partially funded by HAF and Salford Short Breaks.
