The Fed and Mustard Tree – two of Manchester’s leading social care charities – held an inspiring and uplifting joint ‘Values & Business’ lunch yesterday at Manchester United’s Old Trafford stadium which raised a total of £29,000. The event was sponsored by Beaverbrooks – The Jewellers.
Compered by Vikas Shah MBE DL and focusing on ‘different faiths, different approaches, same goals’ the 180 guests heard from Mark Adlestone OBE DL, Shalni Arora, Aneel Mussarat, Andy James and Rev Ian Rutherford on a variety of topics including:
What role has faith played in your life?
Do you think faith changes how you make decisions in business?
Do you think faith-based approaches have different morals and ethics in business?
How has faith played a role in your decision to go into philanthropy or indeed your approach to philanthropy?
What piece of advice would you give to individuals in this room from your giving and impact journey?
Among the guests were the Bishop of Manchester, Imam Haroon Sidat and Rabbi Daniel Walker who also shared their thoughts on the subjects that were discussed.
The event ended with the lighting of the 8th and final night of Chanukah candles overlooking the Old Trafford pitch.
Thank you to everyone who came and supported us so generously and thank you to Celia’s Kitchen for the outstanding catering.
