Our play camp was fully booked for these 4 days of pre-Yom Tov fun with our indefatigable Project Smile Team. 75 children attended and enjoyed a range of activities, games and crafts. As the weather was stunning, most of the time was spent outdoors.
The scheme provides respite for parents who are preparing for Pesach and, perhaps, to enjoy a little time together. Meanwhile, the children get stimulation and a chance to play with their friends in an environment literally built for having fun: an indoor Children’s Centre, the outdoor play area and the newly refurbished sensory room.
The play camp has been a real hit for children and parents and some of the feedback this year has genuinely touched staff: one young mother was dropping her child off for the first time yesterday and, understandably, expressed some trepidation. Another mother, who was close by, popped over to say, “Don’t worry, the only place I trust to leave my children with are The Fed.”
This year’s play camp was generously supported by the Holiday Activities and Food Fund – Bury and Salford.
