With enormous sadness we made the announcement at the beginning of August that our CHARITY BOX charity shop on Cheetham Hill, Manchester will close on October 31.

Faced with a new landlord wishing to increase the rent to three times the amount, along with other increased running costs, we simply had no choice but to take this difficult decision.
For over two decades our charity shop has provided crucial funding to support our work as the Manchester Jewish community’s safety net.
Not only that but its wonderful, indefatigable manager Karen Morse and her team have provided the most amazing support to the local community. The closure will leave a massive void.
Karen, is seen below with Fed CEO, Mark Cunningham and our Fundraising Manager, Rochelle Broman, on a much happier occasion.
The Fed thanks everyone who supported the shop with donated goods over the years and our fantastic volunteers who helped run it on a regular basis.
Extra special thanks go to our dedicated shop colleagues Craig and Michaela and above all Karen who has worked for The Fed for 25 years. We know their sense of loss is enormous.
If you are wondering where to send your donations after October can we suggest the Mustard Tree (https://mustardtree.org.uk/). It’s a charity very close to The Fed’s heart which supports homeless people across Greater Manchester.
