Heathlands Village welcomed more than 400 visitors, residents, tenants and staff to its much-anticipated annual Big Birthday Appeal Farm Day in May, creating a fun-filled afternoon of activities, entertainment and community spirit.

With glorious sunshine providing the perfect backdrop, guests of all ages came together to enjoy a wide range of attractions designed to bring the community together and create lasting memories.

There was plenty on offer throughout the day, including donkey rides, face painting, biscuit decorating, balloon modelling and a host of creative arts and crafts activities. The event’s popular petting zoo once again proved to be a highlight, giving visitors the opportunity to meet and interact with a variety of animals, including alpacas, sheep, chickens, rabbits, a friendly goat and even a selection of reptiles.

The event provided a wonderful opportunity for residents and tenants to spend time outdoors, socialise with family and friends, and take part in activities suitable for all ages. Seeing so many members of the Heathlands community enjoying the afternoon together made the day particularly special.

Visitors also enjoyed a selection of refreshments kindly provided by the Heathlands catering team, whose hard work helped ensure everyone was well looked after throughout the event.

Adding to the excitement was the Farm Day raffle, with one lucky winner taking home Toto the Sloth, much to the delight of those in attendance.

Farm Day forms part of The Fed’s Big Birthday Appeal, a special initiative encouraging families to celebrate milestone birthdays in a meaningful way by supporting The Fed’s vital work across the community. Through fundraising events, donations and community activities, the appeal helps ensure The Fed can continue delivering life-transforming, and often life-saving, services to those who need them most.

The Fed would like to thank everyone who attended, along with the staff, volunteers and activity providers who helped make this year’s Farm Day such a success.

With another fantastic event now completed, planning is already underway for next year’s celebrations.
