Incredible family history were brought to life at Heathlands Village on 19th January, as we partnered with We Were There Too – a unique cross community project created to capture, record and preserve the impact, experience and contribution of Britain’s Jewish communities during the First World War era.

We were delighted to welcome so many members of the public, together with residents of Heathlands Village, for a fascinating voyage through the 1914-1918 war, hearing from WWTT experts on how they have created their remarkable database, along with seeing personal items and heirlooms from the period brought it by visitors.

Generations of the Loofe family pose in front of their First World War veteran father and grandfather, while other groups present their documents and archives of departed relatives.
