Seven Parties Fit For A King
You can’t underestimate the benefits of a good get-together and that’s why The Fed puts so much effort into holding community events.
For the recent coronation of King Charles III, The Fed threw seven parties for all our clients whether they be out in the community or living in Heathlands Village.
On the Sunday of coronation weekend in Heathlands, a royally fabulous afternoon tea party was held in the activities centre whilst at another party on Monday, musical entertainment was provided by the indefatigable Glynis Kenworthy – who returned to perform with her ukulele for our community clients the following day.
On the Tuesday, our community centre at Eventhall House was buzzing with activity as our Community Advice and Support Team (CAST) held a very jolly Coronation knees-up and put on a fabulous spread. The party was attended by people who come along to our regular community groups for adults – with the King and Queen making a surprise appearance – well sort of!
The following day came to our big bash at the Hilton suite for our community clients. Over 150 people joined us as our Volunteer Services team held a magnificent Coronation Afternoon Tea party with two fabulous ballroom dancers providing the entertainment.
Next came The Fed’s Coronation Afternoon Tea Party at Bowdon Shul which was attended by over 100 community clients based in South Manchester. This was alongside with members of synagogues The Fed partners with through its FEDLink project, which supports and trains the volunteers of shul outreach committees.
And that’s not forgetting our Mums & Tots and Project Smile Coronation parties. The children’s centre was packed for both royal-themed celebrations, with as many mums and little ones as we could squeeze in the room. There was fun and games, music and socialising, playing and noshing – what more could anyone want?
Jewish festivals and national celebrations such as the Coronation are always marked in style with parties organised across all service areas. We have just one priority – making sure everyone has a chance to let their hair down, enjoy great entertainment and know that they are valued members of our community.
Thank you to all our staff and our amazing Volunteers for their hard work in creating these special and memorable events, and here’s to many more special opportunities to celebrate together.
Long Live The King!
