Close to 100 Fed volunteers answered our call to action to ensure that people across north and south Manchester were able to celebrate Chanukah this year.

Our Volunteer Services Team, together with our Community Advice and Support Team (CAST) prepared almost 500 Chanukah support packages for people living alone – either due to isolation from Covid or having no other family of their own.

With our regular north and south Manchester Chanukah parties cancelled this year, these deliveries represented an even more important part of our services than they would ordinarily be – reminding people that The Fed is here for them and that with our help and our incredible volunteers they remain a part of our warm community.

Specially-donated gifts for children of families we support were delivered by CAST, along with the the packages of candles, doughnuts, and a Chanukah card to spread some light.

We are hugely grateful to the following local businesses who donated to our Chanukah support campaign: Rayburn Trading, Singleton Trading,

Cash4Kid, Brackmans Bakery, Goldsteins, Let’s Fress Deli, Friends of Health, and Ikonic Technology
