In one month’s time, I’ll be taking on the National Three Peaks Challenge in 24 hours – climbing Ben Nevis, Scafell Pike and Snowdon back‑to‑back – to raise vital funds for The Fed’s My Voice project. I’ve had the privilege of leading and growing My Voice for some time now, working day in, day out with Holocaust Survivors, families, schools and communities to ensure these life stories are preserved and heard. My Voice now reaches tens of thousands of young people and adults across the UK, transforming Holocaust education, challenging antisemitism, and ensuring that as the Survivor generation passes, their voices – and the lessons they carry – are never lost.
I am also doing this in memory of my second father, Holocaust Survivor Ike Alterman BEM. Ike rebuilt his life with extraordinary strength, courage and quiet determination, and he inspired everyone who knew him. The resilience he showed in the face of unthinkable trauma has stayed with me in whatever I do. This challenge is my attempt to honour that legacy – to push myself physically and mentally in support of a project that stands at the very heart of remembrance, education and moral responsibility. If My Voice – or Holocaust education and our previous Survivors – has ever moved you, challenged you or mattered to you, I would be deeply grateful if you would support me and help ensure these stories – and the vital lessons they contain – continue to shape our society for generations to come. This is more important now than ever before.
Thank you!
