Danny’s Biggest Fans are hitting the trail!
Some of Danny’s Biggest Fans – Linda, Sara, Karen, Julie and Damian – are walking 50km over two days in the Lake District in honour of our incredible Dad and Dad-in-law, Danny Herman, and the Windermere Children whilst raising money for the fantastic charity, The Fed’s My Voice project.
Danny arrived in the UK as a child refugee from Nazi Germany before the outbreak of WWII. His remarkable life, from 1935 to today, has been documented by My Voice – a powerful initiative that has helped over 40 Holocaust survivors and refugees share their full life stories, in their own words. For Danny, contributing to My Voice was a deeply meaningful way to reflect on his past and ensure that his story will be remembered by future generations.
But creating these stories takes time, care, and resources. Each book is the result of countless hours of listening, documenting, and preserving precious memories – supported by an incredible team of staff and volunteers.
We’re fundraising to help My Voice continue this vital work: giving survivors the chance to be heard and remembered, and helping people understand the human stories behind the Holocaust.
Please sponsor us and help keep these stories alive.
