The trek is in support of The Fed’s My Voice Project which is dedicated to preserving the life stories of Holocaust survivors and refugees. These are recorded in their own words, as “whole-life-story books” – deeply personal, powerful accounts that span their entire lives. These unique books are used across schools, universities, and museums to educate future generations about the Holocaust and the resilience of those who lived through it.

An example of this is the unique PSHE resource developed by My Voice that uses the valuable lessons of Survivor Storytellers around tolerance, hope, kindness and resilience to work with the British Values of the PSHE curriculum.  Now this is more important than ever.

To date, My Voice have completed 53 life-story books, with 12 more in progress.

The Fed’s My Voice Project also produce short films of survivors reading their own works – bringing their stories to life in a new and moving way.

These My Voice books and films ensure that these stories will never be forgotten and provide vital educational resources to combat Holocaust denial.

At a time when Holocaust denial and antisemitism are rising, it is more important than ever to keep the My Voice testimonies alive by encouraging and assisting survivors to write their life stories, in their own words, and accompanying them to educational establishments so they can share their stories first hand while they are still able.

The Fed’s My Voice Project is unique; no other organisation in the UK is undertaking a project of its kind.
