More than 120 volunteers and their guests came together in June for The Fed’s annual Volunteer Celebration, a special evening dedicated to recognising the extraordinary contribution volunteers make to the organisation and the people it supports.
Held in a warm and celebratory atmosphere, the event provided an opportunity to thank volunteers for the time, compassion and commitment they give throughout the year. Guests enjoyed live music from Ben Sallon, delicious Israeli refreshments including hummus, falafel, salads and chips, along with Pimms and lemonade on the lawn.
The evening was also attended by Bev Craig, Leader of Manchester City Council, and Helen Tomlinson from Bury VCFA, who joined staff and volunteers in celebrating the impact of volunteering across the community.
Speaking at the event, Dalia Kaufman, Volunteer Services Manager, expressed her gratitude to those who give their time so generously:
“What a fantastic evening celebrating our amazing volunteers! It was a pleasure to host our annual Volunteer Celebration event and to show our gratitude for the incredible difference volunteers make throughout the year. And to all of our 500+ volunteers, I want to say thank you for your ongoing commitment, compassion and support throughout the year.”
The Fed’s volunteers range in age from 16 to 96, representing communities from across Greater Manchester and a wide variety of backgrounds. Whether supporting residents at Heathlands Village, helping at community activities and events, or providing practical support across services, volunteers play a vital role in enriching the lives of service users and strengthening community connections.
While volunteers are often modest about their achievements, their contribution has a profound impact on the people and families The Fed supports every day. Their kindness, dedication and generosity help make many of the organisation’s services and activities possible.
The Fed is always keen to welcome new volunteers and offers a wide range of opportunities for people who want to make a difference in their community. Whatever your age, experience or availability, there are many ways to get involved and support local people.
A special thank you was also given to volunteer photographer Robert Mandel, who generously gave up his evening to capture the celebrations and contribute to the event photo gallery.
To every one of our volunteers: thank you. Your commitment, enthusiasm and care make an immeasurable difference, and we are incredibly grateful for everything you do.
