This year, as The Fed celebrates its 150th anniversary, a strong message was sent out by our Volunteer Recruitment Officer, Dalia Kaufman: “150 years of looking after our community; 150 ways to volunteer; we want 150 new volunteers to join our team.”

Speaking at an evening to honour and thank The Fed’s invaluable team of volunteers at the Central Cafe, she emphasised how little is required to bring joy to another person’s life. “Volunteers make such a huge difference to people – in just an hour, anyone has the ability to make a change in someone’s mood and situation.”

As volunteers and staff tucked in to a delicious reception, Mark Cunningham, Fed CEO, addressed the gathering: “As I look around the room at such an array of talent, I am inspired by the wealth of dedication, diverse skills, commitment and true community spirit. I cannot think of a better group of people to celebrate The Fed’s 150th anniversary with.”

We simply couldn’t carry out all of the work we do without our incredible volunteers and the time that you give to us and our clients – so thank YOU for what you do for us!
