Heathlands Village was the setting for a heart-warming display of compassion on Sunday, 15th December, as 12 young girls from the Manchester Jewish community came together for a collective ‘haircutting’, organised by the Manchester branch of international charity Zichron Menachem.
The organisation supports children with cancer, and their families, and the donated tresses will be used to make real-hair wigs for youngsters who lose their own hair due to cancer treatment.
Raphi Bloom, Director of Fundraising and Marketing at The Fed, which runs Heathlands Village said:
“We were delighted to be associated with such a wonderful cause, by providing a communal venue for the haircutting in our residents’ Betty Blue hair salon at Heathlands Village. On top of that, our residents really loved all the excitement the young people brought to the village.”
