More than twenty clients of The Fed’s Volunteer Services Department received VIP treatment at North Cheshire Jewish Primary School earlier in July when year six pupils organised a beautiful afternoon tea.
Half as many staff and volunteers provided transportation to and from the special intergenerational event, which is part of our regular coffee-stop programme.
The children had set the room up, picking flowers from the school grounds to decorate each table. They served tea and coffee with sandwiches, biscuits and fruit which they had prepared themselves, and entertained the guests with singing, piano playing and tap-dancing.
There was also plenty of time to mingle and get to know each other and feedback from our clients could not have been more positive.
If you would like to attend our coffee-stops or help volunteer to help with transport or providing entertainment or otherwise get involved with The Fed, please call our Volunteer Services Department on 0161 772 4800 or email volunteering@thefed.org.uk
