In June we were delighted to announce the appointment of Lauren Libbert as London Holocaust Project Lead for The Fed’s My Voice-Yad Vashem UK Foundation Partnership.
Having originally trained as a solicitor, she worked as a journalist in London for the last 25 years and is now based at Yad Vashem UK’s office in Hendon.
Her role sees her identifying and supporting new Holocaust Survivor and Refugee storytellers, and recruiting and training volunteer befrienders, editors, photographers, and proof-readers.
She supervises the publication of the life stories to provide lasting legacies for the storytellers’ families, and valuable living testimony and educational resources for current and future generations.
Juliette Pearce, My Voice Project Manager, will oversee Lauren in her new role. She commented, “I’m confident that Lauren’s incredible drive, enthusiasm and vast experience will bring wonderful assets to the new project.”
Simon Bentley, Chairman of Yad Vashem UK said: “It is a privilege to have the opportunity of working with The Fed in the further development of My Voice in London and the South-East. We have close relationships with Survivors based here and look forward to working closely with Juliette Pearce, the My Voice Project Manager, and with Lauren, based in our office in North-West London.”
My Voice (www.myvoice.org.uk), which chronicles the whole life stories of Northwest-based Holocaust Survivors and Refugees, and Yad Vashem UK Foundation announced their joint initiative last year, extending the geographical reach of my Voice’ one-of-a-kind service to London and the Southeast.
