A crowd of close to 90 filled the Purple Room Community Centre at Heathlands Village, as comedienne Marilyn Berg regaled guests with her observations of the indignities of female health-care checks and frustrations of using supermarket self-check-outs.
Angela Cantor, the former owner of the well-known Emma Somerset, high-end ladies wear chain opened the event.
Stockport magistrate, Marilyn, won The Fed’s Laughter Factor in 2014 and is a retired English teacher who now works for the National Trust.
The Fed’s Fundraising Manager, Rochelle Broman, praised the charity’s Catering Manager, Christoph Dieter and his team.
“They were amazing – the lunch was to gourmet standard – we had loads of compliments. The ladies loved the event – great food, great entertainment by Marilyn and a really friendly upbeat atmosphere. It was fantastic to see so many new faces at The Fed, particularly from south Manchester.”
