The Motiview Road Worlds for Seniors cycling competition kicked off this week at Heathlands Village!
The annual competition sees care homes across the world pitted against each other to see who can cover the greatest collective distance over the course of a month!
The care homes all have one thing in common necessary to compete – the incredible Motitech bicycles, which have been a popular feature at Heathlands Village for since their introduction in 2018.
The bikes use a combination of video footage and cycling equipment to create a lifelike and immersive cycling experience, encouraging older people to exercise.
With Beth Mitchell, Development Officer at Sport England, in attendance, The Fed’s Activity Centre team were decked out in Road Worlds colours, ready for starters orders!
Last year, residents of Heathlands Village cycled almost 1000km together – putting the care home in the #1 spot for the whole of England!
