The Fed’s annual residents’ BBQ is always a highlight of the Heathlands Village calendar, and the brilliant Manchester sunshine helped make this year’s a roaring success.

On 23rd July under a marquee on the front lawn, residents were joined by the High Sheriff of Greater Manchester, Mark Adlestone and a number of his fellow Fed Board members, for a delicious lunchtime BBQ.

There was a very special celebration too – resident Joyce Kaye celebrated her 99th birthday, surrounded by friends in the picturesque gardens.

The Year 6 pupils of Broughton Jewish Primary School provided perfect entertainment as a post-lunch performance allowed residents to relax in the sun.

The youngsters performed a selection of songs from their end of year musical – Mary Poppins!

After the show, pupils mingled with residents and spent a lovely few minutes getting to know their audience.

Heathlands Village – so much more than just a care home. A place that’s full of fun and opportunity, where older people live life to the full!
