Maintenance Plumber/Gas Engineer
Required as soon as possible.
The Fed is one of the largest employers in north Manchester. We’re proud to employ more than 300 people, many of whom are based at Heathlands Village and directly involved in the care our residents. Heathlands Village is a welcoming and friendly care-home with a community feel, set in landscaped gardens, on a beautiful five acre site in Prestwich, North Manchester.
Many people have worked with us for years and quite a few related, telling us that we are not only a good employer, but a happy place to work.
We also employ people within our wider community teams who support people who live in their own homes.
We’re currently looking for a well-organised yet adaptable individual with good knowledge of commercial gas heating and plumbing systems, to join our Maintenance department.
The maintenance department is responsible for the maintenance and upkeep of the buildings within our 5 acre site. Join us, and you could soon be playing an important role at the heart of our friendly team.
Working closely with other teams across site, you’ll be responsible for the service, maintenance and repair of hot and cold-water systems, commercial heating systems and drainage. Also need to manage and co-ordinate Legionella, in particularly expansion vessels on potable water. We’ll also rely on you to deal with any small installations and alterations that are needed. Ensuring that the workshop is maintained in a clean and tidy manner will be important too, as will maintaining safe working practices and operating safe systems of work. And, when it comes to keeping service records up-to-date or responding to an out of hours emergency call out, again, we’ll count on you.
To succeed, you’ll need proven experience in the maintenance, repair and servicing of commercial gas heating and hot water systems, including boilers and plant. Comfortable communicating with colleagues, service users and visitors, you have a high level of accuracy and attention to detail, are self-motivated and able to work alone without direction. Flexibility over working patterns is important too, as is a proven ability to work well under pressure and meet targets and deadlines.
So, if you’re a dedicated team-player who strives for excellence, leads by example and is keen to become part of a long-standing organisation that values and supports its staff, apply today.
