Hi Family and Friends in Manchester,
As a Mancunian living in Israel I was pleased to be asked to take on this challenge to raise much needed funds for The Fed.
YAM LE YAM ( Sea to Sea) is a 100km walk and crosses the whole width of the country, starting from Achziv Beach on the Mediterranean Sea and climbing through Nachal K’ziv to the peak of Mt. Meron, the second highest mountain in Israel all the way to Chof Kinneret on the Sea of Galilee.
I know from personal experience the value of having good family and good friends in times of crisis and difficulty. But for the support of those close to us we would have been lost, we would have struggled more, and sometimes we may have felt completely desolate and unable to cope.
Sometimes though the carers, or the cared for, need to look outside for help and it is here that The Fed fills the gap.
By providing a huge host of services and activities it supports the wonderful; Jewish community of Manchester in those times of need.
One of the main principals of tzedakka is that well known saying ”charity begins at home” and as Manchester is no longer my home I turn to all my family, old friends and acquaintances to ask for your support.
This is your Fed – it serves your community – please support it – it’s a huge mitzvah.
No matter how small a donation – it all counts and is much appreciated.
