Carers groups and activities
The Fed also runs a number of groups and activities for carers.
It’s all about you is a regular well-being group for carers, held every Monday morning.
The Purple Group
The Purple Group is The Fed’s support group for male carers.
It meets on the first Wednesday of the month from 5:45 to 7:45pm, in The Purple Room, at Eventhall House, Heathlands Village, M25 9SB.
Other group sessions and services for Carers
The Fed usually holds a special event for carers in June, during National Carers’ Week and occasional evenings out or day trips, which may be subsidised depending on available funding.
Carers are also welcome to attend the annual Fed Chanukah Party and regular “coffee-stop” socials which are run by our volunteer services. They can also meet up with other carers at our weekly Purple Room Community Cafe This is a social venue which is open to all adults in the community, not exclusively carers.

Carers’ Peer Group
On the first Wednesday of the month a self-run Carers’ Peer Support group is held in the Purple Room office from 3 till 4.00 pm.The is a place for carers to provide each other with mutual emotinal support and practical advice.
The monthly Carers’ Peer Group is followed by a Carers’ Forum Meeting. the aim of this is to discuss and develop The Fed’s carers’ services.
Training for Carers
From time to time The Fed holds training sessions on subjects which are helpful for carers. We run these together with other large charities such as Age UK, the Alzheimer’s Society, Macmillan Cancer Support and Carers UK.
