Children and Families Social work

Fed080315-120 - Copy-400The Fed’s Children and Families’ social work team offers professional social work assessment and support to children and families in need.

Our social workers offer advice and support to parents and children in the short or long-term.

They carry out “children and families assessments” which look at how a child is doing regarding education, health, learning and getting on with other people.

The assessment helps to work out the best way to support the child and his or her family.

The social worker devises a plan to support the child and family. This might include regular practical support from one of The Fed’s family support workers and/or volunteers or attending one of our Project Smile children’s groups.

The social worker can also help with applying for benefits or other financial aid.

If you or someone you know needs more information about how The Fed supports children and families, please contact our Referrals and Advice Officer, on 0161 772 4800 or email duty@thefed.org.uk
