So, after much thought and deliberation, I have finally committed myself fully to the iconic Yam L’Yam 100k trek across the beautiful north of Israel from the Med to the Kinneret in order to raise much needed funds for The Fed.
The Fed offers invaluable support within Manchester ranging from Community Care to Communal Activities. These include offering advice and support, both one-to-one and in groups, to people facing social care problems, and also supporting people by providing regular group sessions and activities to get involved in.
Heathlands Village is an integral part of The Fed and offers care ranging from short stays perhaps after illness or hospital to Residential Care, Nursing Care, Dementia Care and End of Life Care. Within Heathlands Village you can find Moorview which is a separate area for ‘supported independent living’
All these facilities are in need of essential funding to keep them running smoothly in order to look after those most vulnerable in our community.
Trekking in the September heat over 100k for 4 days is certainly not without its own challenges but when I look at the challenges facing The Fed on a daily basis I wanted to step up and be part of this Ladies only journey. As a mum of 3 kids, youngest 17, and 3 dogs I feel this is my time to give back to the community and hope you can support me by donating any amount, large or small to this wonderful cause.
Thank you so much
