I am so excited to be participating in trek4thefed in August and to raise much-needed funds for The Fed, a wonderful charity close to my heart.
The Fed helps so many people, and offers everything to our community, and I hope that with the support of my family, friends – and anyone who can support the vital work The Fed does – that I can raise enough money to help ensure the future of these services.
I have a personal connection to The Fed, and feel lucky to have had the opportunity to teach Pilates over the last four years for members of the community at The Fed’s Purple Room.
We have a lovely group of 25 ladies, all from different backgrounds, who enjoy an hour dedicated to fitness and socialising every Monday night, as well as a group of carers and service-users who I lead in a chair Pilates class on Thursdays.
Over the past few months I’ve been zooming Pilates on-line for The Fed community and volunteers, helping to keep everyone fit and well during lockdown.
As a mother of four boys, two daughters-in-law and Sonny the dog with my husband David, I know what challenges life can throw up – but I’m happy to throw myself into this challenge, to support others less fortunate than myself.
This challenging walk covers 24 miles and includes the 3 highest mountains in the Yorkshire Dales National Park. There may be times when I want to give up, but for the sake of those relying on the funds we will raise, I will soldier on!
Please support me however you can….any donation large or small is greatly appreciated.
Lots of love
