The Fed’s on National TV!
SUNDAY 9 MAY
Sky: 676, Freeview: 90 (Greater Manchester) or 271
Join us for a unique evening of celebration and commemoration of The Fed’s life-saving work, live on Sky or Freeview with no buffering or connectivity issues.
Sit back, relax, and be amazed at the breadth of our work that often goes undetected – right outside your own front door.
In addition to a professionally-shot interview segment with The Fed’s Chief Executive, Chairman, and board of directors, “The F Word” marks the premiere of “Not Alone” – a moving and inspiring film about The Fed and the vast history of Manchester Jewry.
“Not Alone” has been set to words written by Manchester poet Tony Walsh, the incredible local wordsmith most famous for performing his poem ‘This is the Place / Forever Manchester’ in the wake of the Manchester Arena bombing.
And yet for all our quiet, unassuming and confidential work, our services have never been more urgently needed.
The situation facing some of the most vulnerable among us has never been more desperate; the reality of life for those we care for at times has never more frightening.
Amid the sexual abuse, poverty, isolation, families struggling with children with a variety of behavioural and learning difficulties, suicidal ideation, and individuals suffering with mental health issues for whom we are the first and last line of defence, Covid-19 swept away our plans and ambitions for 2020.
Faced with an invisible and deadly enemy, we shut down, aimed high, and pulled together to not only meet the challenges we faced, but actually increase our service provision across the community.
Now we are looking to the future, steadfast in the knowledge that, as the local community’s safety net, if we are not here to carry out our work people will suffer. Some may not survive.
In our 30 minute national broadcast, we will present to you a past we are proud of, the present we are safeguarding, and a future we are protecting.
But we can only do it with your help. One in eight Jewish homes across Greater Manchester rely on The Fed’s services. It could be a colleague, a neighbour, a friend. One day it could be you.
Join us for a unique and emotional evening of celebration and commemoration – The F Word.
