Our Children and Families’ social workers offer advice and support to parents and children in the short or long-term.

They carry out what are known as “children and families assessments”. These look at how a child is doing in terms of education, health, learning and getting on with other people. They help to work out the best way of supporting the child and his/her family.

The social worker then puts into effect a plan to support the family. This might include regular practical support from one of our family support workers and /or volunteers. It might involve helping a family to obtain the right benefits or other financial aid or recommending attendance at our Stay and Play sessions.

Should you or someone you know need more information about this service please contact our Referral and Advice Officer, Victoria who is available every weekday from 9.30am – 12.30pm on 0161 772 4800 or email victoria.m@thefed.org.uk
