Future Plans
Times are changing as Health, Education and Social Services are restructuring. We appreciate their support of our work and their recognition that a vibrant and innovative voluntary sector is truly a worthwhile partner. The Fed is viewed as the bridge between the statutory and community sector and we work hard to maintain high standards that ensure the long-term security of our contracts and services.
Board members take their duties of care and governance seriously. Times have changed. So much more is expected from Lay Leaders who must now be conversant with legislation, policy development, strategy and planning. Investment through training and consultation for all involved with The Fed is vital to our success.
The Jewish welfare organisations are striving to work together and identify when savings can be made. Several initiatives are underway to rationalise resources and plan for the future. We recognise that this is crucial if we are to be respected and able to provide all that the community needs as it grows in number and diversity. We will help people by having the funds to employ high calibre staff. We cannot rely on statutory support alone for this. We are dependent upon and grateful to all donors who make our work possible. However, as a community we must all take responsibility for and commit to the future planning and development of services through partnership. It is the only way forward.
2007 will see us
- Developing our services in South Manchester by recruiting extra staff and moving to larger premises
- Enhancing our volunteer department by achieving the Investing in Volunteering kite mark and offering even more support and volunteering opportunities to children and families of all ages
- Recruiting extra adult social work staff to speed up response time and eradicate waiting lists.
- Increasing our investment in our Project Smile staff by supporting their continued professional development so we can offer an even better service to children.
- Ensuring that we work collaboratively with other communal organisations
to save costs and reduce duplication, acting as lead organisation where appropriate.
We'd like to thank all the people who make it possible, our dedicated and professional staff, the 400+ Fed team of volunteers, and all the local support organisations who have worked so closely with us. To find out more about our partners please visit our partners page.
