THE FED was delighted to receive a cheque for £15,000 on 25th November, 2011 from the Children’s Aid Committee. The charity helps children in need in the North of England. The donation will be used to purchase toys and equipment for THE FED’s Children’s Centre, at Heathlands Village in Prestwich. Presenting the cheque from the Childrens Aid Committee was Danny Franks, Treasurer, and Mike Hymanson, Chairman. Carol Moffatt, THE FED’s Project Smile Team Manager who runs the centre, told us:
“It’s fantastic. It’s going to give us the icing on the cake. It will enable us to buy, amongst other things, specialised outdoor play equipment. We wouldn’t be able to afford these items without such a generous donation. We’ll buy outdoor music tubes and mirrors, garden furniture, and raised garden beds for children who are wheelchair bound or with other physical disabilities. Children with autism or learning difficulties will benefit from the sensory interactive equipment. This will stimulate them, help their development, and give them a lot of fun!”
