Long live the corner shop!
They say the days of the old corner shop are dying – the place where locals drop in for a chat, catch up with the local gossip, feel a sense of belonging and of community. Thankfully for residents of Cheetham Hill and Urmston in Greater Manchester, this generations-old institution is still very much alive, but with a modern day twist.
THE CHARITY BOX shops stock a great selection of new and “previously loved” quality clothes, accessories, toys, bedding and household items. For value shopping with a warm welcome this is definitely the place to come.
100% of the profits from the sale of goods go back into the local community to fund services provided by local social care charity, The Fed.
The shops need regularly stocking with good quality new or used clothes, shoes and accessories. They are also happy to receive items of bric-a-brac but cannot accept electrical items.
Want to donate goods to the shop, volunteer some time to work there or find out more about what they stock? Get in touch online or give us a call on 0161 772 4800.
THE CHARITY BOX shops are located at:
62 Bury Old Road
(0161 492 0422)
4 Station Bridge
(0161 749 8288)
Goods should be delivered direct to the shops. If delivery is difficult for you please call the shops who will do their best to arrange collection from your home.
Please note that items donated to the charity shop are able to attract gift aid on their sale value, which increases the income for The Fed. Please ask the shop managers for a gift aid form. A separate charity shop gift aid form is required even if you have completed one in respect of monetary donations to The Fed.
